Abundant Wildlife and stunning landscapes of Serengeti National Park
After Masai Mara you will head towards north Tanzania at Serengeti National park with stunning landscapes and an abundance of wildlife that make it a truly magical place. When you think of what the wilds of Africa look like, Serengeti is likely what you're picturing. Known for the Great Migration, Serengeti is also known to be ‘The Land of Cats’ with different types of lions, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes including the abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park. Smaller animals like foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax and African hares, together with more than 500 species of birds, also inhabit this park.
Getting to Serengeti
Getting to Serengeti by road can be a bit time consuming and tiring as you will have to go back to Nairobi over a 7 hourdrive and then take a 5 hour bus to Arusha and then further to Serengeti the following taking up almost 2 days in traveling. Therefore our Travel Engineers recommend taking a Safari Link from Masai Mara to Mogori Airstrip on the border town of Kenya and Tanzania further on a car drive to Tarime(price for which is included in the airfare). This works out more convenient as Safari Links operate only in Kenya and only the coastal aviation in Tanzania.
Indulge in popular game drives of Serengeti and spot the Big 5 in action
The sheer abundance of wildlife here is stunning as you will see the Big5 within an hour or two, and the landscape is as picturesque as you can imagine. You will need atleast 3 nights here accounting for the travel time and ensuring you have saved enough time to experience the popular game drives.
